The Renault 8 Gordini
The Renault 8 Gordini, presented at the Paris Salon in September 1964, was the first compact car with sports performance for the price of a production car. It was the first affordable sports car.
The R8 Gordini was at the time to allow a whole clientele of sports driving enthusiasts to satisfy their passion with a car at the price of that of a mass-produced car.
The Renault 8 Gordini 1300 is equipped with a 1,255 cc engine developing 88 bhp, 8-valve cylinder head, 2 double-barrel Weber 40DCOE carburettors, for an advertised speed of 170 km/h.
