A best-seller on the B segment SUV market for more than 3 years, the PEUGEOT 2008 is now taking a new step in terms of design, technology and electrification.
It features :
More Allure with its elegant character and assertive SUV design,
More Emotion at the wheel with its incomparable 3D i-cockpit® enriched with a 10-inch high-definition central screen and its excellent road feel,
More Excellence with the efficiency of its new electric engine offering up to 406 km of autonomy (WLTP mixed cycle) and its new on-board technologies.
Launched at the end of 2019 and produced in nearly 700,000 units, the PEUGEOT 2008 has always been on the podium for SUV sales in the B segment in Europe, even occupying the top step in 2021.
The success of this model is based in particular on that of the E-2008, a pioneer of electrification in its segment from 2019 and produced more than 75,000 examples.
It represented 17.4% of version sales in 2022, placing it on the podium for European sales of electric SUVs in the B segment.
MATTHIAS HOSSANN, PEUGEOT DESIGN DIRECTOR: “With the new 2008, PEUGEOT continues to strengthen its technological and feline identity. One of the key elements of the Design work is the staging of the front which magnifies the 3-claw signature
It reinforces the robust and muscular style that makes this SUV successful in all markets and illustrates the move upmarket that the new 2008 is experiencing.”
Customers of the PEUGEOT 2008 are first attracted by its strong design, generally described as elegant, powerful and robust. They also appreciate its versatility and agility, which make this new 2008 an SUV particularly suited to active families.
The new PEUGEOT 2008 is produced in the Vigo factory in Spain. It will be launched on the market in the summer of 2023 with a range based on three versions – ACTIVE, ALLURE, GT – and four engines, including a new 100% electric 115 kW/156 hp up to 406 km autonomy (WLTP mixed cycle). This range will be enriched from 2024 with the arrival of a new hybrid engine.
ALLURE: an assertive SUV design for an even stronger personality.
Since the launch of the PEUGEOT 2008, appearance has been at the heart of its success. The challenge for the PEUGEOT design team was to further strengthen its character, by amplifying its belonging to the SUV world and spectacularly asserting its move upmarket.

At the front, a new PEUGEOT lighting signature
After the new 508 sedan and 508 SW, the 2008 is the second model to adopt the new PEUGEOT identity lighting signature. This is characterized by three vertical light claws which, on the new 2008, are integrated into the glossy black inserts of the shield. The whole underlines the strong personality of the 2008 and its robust SUV design. All versions benefit from this new light signature. On the GT versions, the striking effect of the three claws is for the first time extended in the lighting function of the “full LED” headlights by the use of three optical modules. This makes it possible to characterize the GT versions of the rest of the range by giving them an exclusive signature on the front.
At the rear, a reinterpreted light signature
The new LED rear lights which benefit all versions of the new 2008 reinterpret the emblematic three claws which mark the rear of a PEUGEOT. Here they are made up of three superimposed double horizontal slats, thin and elegant, which help to visually widen the stance of the car. The reversing lights and turn signals are also LED.
A reinvented front
The new 2008 receives new fronts, which welcome the new PEUGEOT emblem, wider, they integrate a specific side pattern connecting to the headlights and thus reinforce the verticality and powerful posture of the vehicle.
On the ACTIVE version, the front panel is adorned with a horizontal pattern treated in a glossy black color.
On the ALLURE and GT versions, the front face adopts a vertical pattern in the same color as the bodywork which stretches to subtle dark inserts intended to reinforce the verticality of the front face. The body color of the pattern also allows the grille to be better integrated into the bumper for the benefit of a better perception of robustness.
New colors
Modern, Selenium Gray, chosen as the launch color, is also the shade offered in the available palette. The new Okenite White, rich in bluish-gray highlights, will underline the sophistication of the new 2008. The GT version benefits from a black two-tone roof as standard. On all new 2008s, the mirrors are black, regardless of the body color chosen.
The new 2008 is available in six body colors (Selenium Gray, Artense Gray, Okenite White, Perla Nera Black, Elixir Red and Vertigo Blue).
An innovative rim design
The new PEUGEOT 2008 receives alloy wheels with a disruptive design, in line with those inaugurated on the PEUGEOT 408. Several models are offered, 16-inch “NOMA” (ACTIVE versions), 17-inch “KARAKOY” (ALLURE and GT) ) or 18-inch “EVISSA” (optional on GT). All alloy rims feature a 4-spoke wheel center, bearing the PEUGEOT emblem which elegantly hides the nuts.
Modernized PEUGEOT badges
The front, side and rear badges of the new 2008s benefit from a new typography and a new Basalt Gray color. The E-2008 receives an “E” badge in Dichroic Blue and White. At the rear, the PEUGEOT monogram is installed across the entire width of the trunk lid strip.
New refined fabrics
All versions of the new 2008 benefit from renewed seat fabrics, illustrating a real move upmarket like the new Alcantara upholstery available as an option on the GT versions.
EMOTION: the incomparable PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® more than ever at the heart of driving pleasure.
A key element of the passenger compartment, the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit® is one of the strong markers of the brand’s models. With more than 10 million sales over the past decade, it is enriched and modernized with the new 2008, to optimize its ergonomics and driving pleasure.
A new design for the digital instrument cluster
Ideally located at eye level, just above the steering wheel, the instrument cluster of the new 2008 is digital on the ALLURE and GT versions. Its 10-inch digital panel receives a new design and, on GT versions, a 3D display. The color of the display, the hierarchy and the layout of the information are fully configurable according to the driver’s preferences. In the ACTIVE version, the 2008 retains its analog instrument cluster.
A 10-inch central touch screen for all new 2008s
All 2008s now receive a 10-inch central touch screen as standard (compared to 7 inches previously on the first two finishes). It allows you to control the radio and telephone functions (ACTIVE version) or the latest generation of PEUGEOT i-Connect® and PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced infotainment systems. On the ALLURE and GT versions, the central screen is HD technology. Under the central screen, the piano keys are retained to allow quick access to key functions.
The compact steering wheel at the heart of the action
Characteristic of the PEUGEOT i-Cockpit®, the compact steering wheel increases the pleasure of driving by offering unique agility and precision of movement. The steering wheel incorporates the new badge in its center and, where applicable, the new GT badge on the lower part of its rim. It brings together the multimedia system controls (audio sources, telephone) as well as volume and voice control.
Sophisticated ambient lighting on the GT version
The cabin of the new 2008 GT benefits from ambient lighting which can be personalized in eight different colors, some of which are new, which are now coordinated with those of the central touch screen and take into account the selected driving mode.
A new manual gearbox control
The new 2008s equipped with the six-speed manual transmission receive a new gear shift knob, for greater ergonomics. The new 2008s equipped with an automatic transmission retain the new elegant, practical and discreet selector, introduced in spring 2022.
Grip control
The new PEUGEOT 2008 is equipped with enhanced traction with Grip Control, which allows access to 3 driving modes: sand, mud, snow. Depending on the country, this grip control offer is associated with ‘3PMSF’ all-season tires.
EXCELLENCE: a new standard in electrification and connectivity.
At the cutting edge of modernity, the new 2008 intends to make its efficient electrified engines and its latest generation connectivity key assets to attract new customers.
An ever more efficient E-2008, with up to 406 km of autonomy
A pioneer of 100% electric SUVs in the B segment, the E-2008 receives the new engine already adopted by the E-208 and E-308. Maximum power increases by 15%, from 100 kW/136 hp to 115 kW/156 hp, while the battery goes from 50 kWh to 54 kWh. Significant work carried out on efficiency makes it possible to reconcile the increase in performance with an increase in autonomy, which reaches up to 406 km compared to 345 km previously (WLTP mixed cycle).
Two types of on-board chargers are available on the new PEUGEOT E-2008, meeting all uses and all charging solutions: as standard, a 7.4 kW single-phase charger and, as an option, an 11 kW three-phase charger.
Estimated charging times from 20% to 80% are 30 minutes from a public terminal (100 kW), 4 hours 40 minutes from a Wall Box (7.4 kW) and 11 hours 10 minutes from a reinforced socket (3.2 kW).
Soon a new hybrid engine on the 2008
At the start of 2024, the new 2008 will receive the new HYBRID 48V engine which consists of a new generation PureTech 136 hp petrol engine, coupled to a new 6-speed electrified double-clutch gearbox which incorporates an electric motor.
Thanks to a battery that recharges while driving, this technology offers additional torque at low revs and a reduction of up to 15% in fuel consumption. In urban driving, the new 2008 equipped with the HYBRID system can operate more than 50% of the time in 100% zero-emission electric mode.
A range of engines that meets all needs
In addition to the electrified engines described above, the new 2008 range offers a choice of Petrol and Diesel engines which allows each customer to find the model suited to their needs:

The latest generation of PEUGEOT connected information systems
The new 2008 now benefits from the PEUGEOT i-Connect® system as standard and all versions can receive the PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced system as an option.
Both are controlled via the 10-inch high-definition central touch screen, easily customizable, multi-window with “widgets” or shortcuts, very easy to use and responsive like a smartphone. It is therefore easy to swipe the different menus from left to right, from top to bottom for notifications or with a 3-finger press to bring up the application wall.
At any time it is easy to return to the main page by pressing the “Home” piano key located under the screen. At the top of the screen, a permanent banner displays exterior temperature and air conditioning information, position in widget pages, connectivity data, notifications and time.
The PEUGEOT i-Connect® system offers complete connectivity thanks to a wireless mirroring function (Apple CarPlay/Android Auto). The technological experience is complete with the PEUGEOT i-Connect® Advanced, equipped with efficient TomTom connected navigation. For optimal readability, the map is displayed on the entire 10-inch screen.
System updates are carried out “over the air”.
The “OK PEUGEOT” command on the PEUGEOT i-connect Advanced, natural language voice recognition, allows access to all requests related to infotainment functions.
In order to support users and answer their questions, the system includes on-board documentation as well as tutorials.
