  • Improved interior: a new steering wheel and an even more refined central console

Modern, compact, with an unmistakable style – that’s the Opel Mokka. With its bold and pure design, the Mokka has become a bestseller. Now Opel is making this unconventional compact SUV even more desirable, both inside and out. New elements underline the unique character of the Mokka and Opel is also bringing technologies from higher vehicle segments to the SUV B segment. And that’s not all, the brand with the Blitz has also opened the order books for the new Mokka. With the powerful 100 kW (136 hp) petrol engine, it is available from 26,500 euros.

In the hybrid version with 48-volt technology, it is available from 29,500 euros, while the Mokka Electric with a 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor and up to 402 kilometers of locally emission-free range (WLTP[2]) is available from 36,900 euros in France. In this anniversary year of “125 years of automobile production at Opel”, the manufacturer is once again making innovations available to a wide range of customers.

“Our Mokka is a bestseller. Bold, pure and unmistakable – a car full of character that stands out from the crowd. That is exactly why we have slightly refined its contemporary design with the new Opel Blitz and graphic elements. The biggest change is in the interior. The cockpit now appears even more refined and takes up the Opel Vizor graphic from the front of the vehicle. In addition, the driver and passengers of the new Mokka can enjoy the next generation of infotainment. We are pleased to be taking orders for the new Mokka now,” said Opel CEO Florian Huettl.

A more assertive character: the new Opel Blitz, lighting blocks and graphic accents

With its bold and clean lines, including the Opel Vizor, the Mokka has already made an impression. It was the first model to introduce the brand’s characteristic stripe, which now adorns all new models. This confident design inspires customers – and that is why Opel has not completely revised the appearance of the Mokka, but has instead subtly emphasized its visual strengths. The new Opel Blitz in the center of the Opel Vizor brand front end helps to accentuate the Mokka’s character. The black Vizor visually integrates the new Blitz and the headlights into a single element. As on the new Opel Frontera, the familiar signature of the LED lights at the front and rear shines in a more modern interpretation with three “lighting blocks” that ensure an uncompromising look.

In keeping with the motto “black is beautiful”, a black design line running from the hood to the rear above the side windows will attract attention in all versions in the future. On the Mokka GS, black trims at the front, rear and wheel arches also provide sporty elegance. A high-gloss black strip that runs across the lower surfaces of the doors to the rear mirrors the window design line in the side molding and underlines the stylish appearance. In line with Opel’s “Greenovation” approach, special aerodynamic rims (available for the Mokka Electric) and the redesigned front bumper improve aerodynamics. In addition, the new Mokka completely dispenses with chrome applications on the exterior.

Detox and Greenovation: The interior of the new Mokka in a new light

The new Opel Mokka continues its resource-saving approach in the interior. All fabrics are made from recycled materials. Visually, the “detox” approach, which focuses on the essentials, takes centre stage. The new steering wheel, flattened at the top and bottom, not only conveys a sporty character, it also brings the Opel Vizor into the interior with the new Blitz in the centre and reflects the Opel compass of the exterior design with horizontal lines.

The centre console between the front seats, in a matt silver tone, is even clearer than before. The designers and engineers have integrated some of the settings that were previously controlled by buttons into the central colour touchscreen. This makes the entire cockpit design appear newer and more attractive, as if it came from a higher vehicle class. For example, the design of the other controls for the electric parking brake and selectable driving modes (on the Mokka Electric and automatic variants) comes from the all-new Opel Grandland.

Smart, intuitive, customizable: The improved infotainment system

The new multimedia infotainment and navigation system also takes the new Mokka to the next level. The advanced bestseller is now equipped as standard with a 10-inch digital driver information display and a colour touchscreen of the same size. The latter can be easily operated via widgets, just like on a smartphone. In addition, in combination with the optional navigation system, simply say “Hey, Opel” to use natural speech recognition. Both displays can be personalised in a variety of ways. The system recognises the driver’s personal profile on the connected smartphone; the connection is always wireless in the new Mokka. Various virtual shortcuts can be configured on the central display and different colour combinations offer additional personalisation options.

When the vehicle is equipped with the integrated navigation system, map updates are available in real time. The system is also constantly improving itself thanks to ChatGPT (available in combination with connected navigation) and, based on the habits of the associated driver profile, autonomously suggests destinations and routes. The myOpel app can also be used to easily send the destination and the corresponding route to the vehicle. In addition, the Mokka Electric’s infotainment system offers a route for electric vehicles with a display of charging stations. Smartphones can also be charged wirelessly. Portable devices such as smartphones and tablets can also be connected via the USB-C socket on the center console. The 180-degree reversing camera (optional) ensures excellent visibility when maneuvering in the city.

Simplified offer: two electrified engines, two finishes, two packs

Opel makes the selection process for the new Mokka as clear as its design: The new model will be available in the “Edition” and “GS” trim levels and can be personalized with two customization packages.

In terms of the engine, Mokka customers will be able to choose between a high-performance gasoline engine for an entry-level price of 26,500 euros and two electrified alternatives. The compact SUV will be available both as a classic hybrid with 48-volt technology and as the locally emission-free Mokka Electric. The all-electric new Mokka is now available from 36,900 euros, exclusively with the 115 kW (156 hp) electric motor and the 54 kWh battery. Thanks to clever packaging, the engineers were able to guarantee an exemplary range with a compact battery. This means that up to 402 kilometers (WLTP2) can be driven locally without emissions. The space-saving location of the battery under the floor lowers the centre of gravity and ensures that the new Mokka Electric behaves confidently on the road. With 260 Newton metres of torque available immediately, the Mokka Electric offers rapid acceleration from the start and intense driving pleasure.

Customers who prefer an alternative driving style can opt for the new Mokka Hybrid with 48-volt technology from 29,500 euros. It combines a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 100 kW (136 hp) with a 21 kW (28 hp) electric motor and a new electrified six-speed dual-clutch transmission. The optimised system significantly reduces fuel consumption and CO2 emissions compared to a comparable conventional vehicle. And at low speeds, Mokka Hybrid drivers can even drive their SUV in city traffic purely electrically, with zero local emissions.

With the new Mokka, Frontera and Grandland, all of which are available to order, Opel offers a trio of technologically advanced and future-proof SUVs that meet most customer wishes.
