From the market launch of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron and its SUV variant – the Audi Q6 e-tron – a new battery variant will be available with ten modules and a gross capacity of 83 kWh (net: 75.8 kWh). This means that in addition to the quattro all-wheel drive variant and the S model, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* is available in two rear-wheel drive variants, thus covering the entire range of powerful electric drives in the Q6 e-tron family.

Thanks to its aerodynamic body with a Cx value of 0.26 (0.28 for the Audi Q6 e-tron) and a large battery with a gross capacity of 100 kWh (net: 94.9 kWh), the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron performance*, measuring 4,771 millimeters long, 1,965 millimeters wide (without mirrors) and 1,665 millimeters high (37 mm less than its twin), has a range of over 650 kilometers. This means that the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron has the longest range of the Q6 e-tron family.

The evocative exterior design accentuates the sporty character

Echoing the iconic first-generation Audi TT Coupé, the Sportback’s sloping roofline enhances its sporty aesthetic. The vehicle’s silhouette flows gracefully, like a streamlined water droplet. The design team reimagined the entire roof arch, starting with the A-pillar, which lowered the Sportback by 37 millimeters. This adjustment infuses the classic SUV proportions with the dynamism and elegance unique to Sportback bodies. As a result, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* exudes unmistakable sportiness, even when stationary.

The roofline extends significantly lower and is tighter over the dynamic body of the vehicle. Its soft shapes deliberately contrast with the creases and edges of the rest of the vehicle, creating a dynamic play of shadows. The flat rear window ends in a tailgate that integrates the third brake light. A light strip sweeps across the rear of the vehicle, over the headlights and extending to the doors, accentuating the quattro blisters and the broad shoulders above the wheel arches. The design of the rear window has a dynamic upward curvature, a distinctive feature common to all Audi Sportbacks. This small detail gives the vehicle even more forward thrust and is further accentuated by the aluminum trims surrounding it.

The fully enclosed Singleframe grille dominates the front of the vehicle. A mask in Selenite Silver or High-gloss Black surrounds the side air intakes. Thanks to their high position, the digital daytime running lights give the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* its unique and striking appearance.

The rear, which tapers more dynamically than that of its twin, combines sporty elegance and power. The analogies with the e-tron GT family are unmistakable. With its continuous light strip, the clean and spacious rear architecture gives the Sportback version the clarity and balance typical of Audi.

The interior of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* is more oriented than ever towards the needs of its occupants. The material properties were carefully considered right from the very beginning of the interior design. Together with the curved Audi MMI panoramic display and the passenger display, they create a visually striking digital scene. The high-contrast interior design intentionally places elements in the foreground or background, resulting in a three-dimensional arrangement that balances aesthetics and ergonomics.

The interior ambience is decidedly intimate. The dynamic interaction lighting offers a wide range of communication functions, facilitating the interactions of the vehicle with its occupants. It envelops the interior and cockpit in a luminous arc. The soft envelope extends from the doors to the center console and the entire cockpit, creating a coherent and welcoming feeling of space. Its high-quality colours and materials, such as Dinamica fabric and microfibre, some of which are made from recycled materials, are also used in the seats. In the S line trim, the soft cover uses an “Elastic Melange” fabric made from recycled materials. The roof lining and sun visors are made from Draft, another fabric made from 100% recycled polyester. Audi also believes in sustainability when it comes to decorative inserts. For example, customers who purchase the S line trim or the S model can choose the Anthracite fabric, made from recycled materials. Also available are decorative inserts such as the Natural Stone Grey birch wood insert, a material that has been optimised to produce less waste during its production.

With a system output of 285 kW (387 hp), the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro (combined energy consumption in kWh/100 km: 18.9–16.6; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A) takes 5.9 seconds to complete the sprint.

The most powerful version, the Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron (combined power consumption in kWh/100 km: 18.0–17.2; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A) has a system output of 360 kW (489 hp) with its two electric motors on the front and rear axle and reaches 100 km/h in just 4.3 seconds in Launch Control mode.

Thanks to its large battery, the rear-wheel-drive Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron delivers range performance* of over 650 kilometres. With an 83 kWh battery, it has a range of up to 545 kilometres. The quattro all-wheel-drive model covers up to 636 kilometres, while the Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron* with quattro all-wheel drive has a range of 607 kilometres.

All variants of the Audi Q6 Sportback are electronically limited to 210 km/h. The Audi SQ6 Sportback e-tron (combined energy consumption in kWh/100 km: 18.0–17.2; combined CO2 emissions in g/km: 0; CO2 class: A) tops out at 230 km/h.

The sophisticated thermal management of the HT battery and the 800-volt electrical system provide impressive charging performance. For example, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron performance* needs just ten minutes at a fast charging station to recover up to 265 kilometres with a maximum charging power of 270 kW under ideal conditions. In addition, the high-voltage battery only needs 22 minutes to charge from 10 to 80 percent. The S model also charges at charging capacities of up to 270 kW, while rear-wheel drive variants support a rate of up to 260 kW (with the 100 kWh battery) or 225 kW (with the 83 kWh battery).

Driving dynamics that match the sporty character of the Sportback

The progressive and sporty design of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* matches its driving dynamics. Audi has redeveloped most of the suspension systems and components of the Q6 e-tron family. The redesigned front axle has a significant influence on the driving dynamics of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron. Like its SUV variant, the trailing arms of the Sportback version are positioned in front of the tie rods in the direction of travel. The optimized axle kinematics significantly increase the driving dynamics and at the same time improve the steering response, particularly thanks to the subframe that holds the steering in place. This makes the vehicle much more agile.

The steering design and its control via new software, combined with the new front axle, constantly provide the customer with much more feedback on the driving situation and road conditions, which further improves the agility of the Sportback version. Thanks to its rear-biased setting, the transmission ensures a highly variable overall distribution of the quattro all-wheel drive and is another feature that improves the driving dynamics of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron*. The different dimensions of the electric motors on the front and rear axles in the quattro variant enable a rear-biased torque distribution even under full load.

The new passive damping system FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) allows the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* to hug the road. The damping required to provide greater ride comfort in certain driving situations has been improved. For example, when driving on cobblestones or during dynamic driving maneuvers, the system adapts accordingly to control the movement of the vehicle body. The adaptive air suspension with optional controlled damping compensates for the load via level control in order to maintain a uniform ride height even under different load conditions.

Five stars in Euro NCAP and “Best in Class” for child safety

The Audi Q6 e-tron has received the highest possible five-star crash test rating from Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program), the renowned European consumer protection organisation. The vehicle was assessed and achieved excellent results in the categories of occupant protection [i.e. adult], child protection, protection of vulnerable road users and Driver assistance systems dedicated to passenger safety. The result: the car received an almost perfect score of 91% for adult occupant protection. For the first time, an Audi model was assessed for its post-collision safety features (including emergency data sheets for first responders and eCall), with the Audi Q6 e-tron also receiving an excellent rating here.

With a score of 92 percent for child protection, the Audi Q6 e-tron model family is currently the best in its class across all vehicles tested in 2023 and 2024. Features that exceed legal requirements contribute to this excellent result. For example, the Audi Q6 e-tron is one of the few models in its segment to offer three i-Size seats: two in the rear and one in the front passenger seat. i-Size is a European safety standard introduced in 2013 that ensures full compatibility between the child seat and the car. The front passenger seat of the Audi Q6 e-tron features an intelligent vehicle function that automatically deactivates the front passenger airbag when a rear-facing child seat is used. The restraint systems have been enhanced for use with child car seats to provide optimum protection for children of all ages.

Cutting-edge lighting technology

The active digital light signature stands for a unique design and aesthetics that are unique to Audi. The second-generation digital OLED rear lights feature six 360-segment OLED panels that use a specially developed algorithm to generate a new image every ten milliseconds, giving the lights a vibrant and intelligent appearance. At the front, the active digital light signature is generated by the interaction of the algorithm with twelve opacifying segments. At the rear, all digital OLED segments are used. The individual light segments interact so that the overall image of the light signature does not vary in light intensity.

The second generation of digital OLED technology shapes the appearance of the new Audi models and multiplies their range of functions. This also improves road safety, as demonstrated by the car-to-X communication light of the digital OLED rear lights 2.0. This function warns other road users of accidents and breakdowns. In critical traffic situations, it displays a specific static light signature with integrated warning symbols in addition to the usual rear light graphic. The Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron* also sets new standards in personalization: With up to eight digital light signatures (depending on the selected equipment level) available for the redesigned daytime running lights in the Matrix LED headlights and the digital OLED rear lights 2.0, drivers can personalize the appearance of their Audi. This can be done via the MMI or the myAudi app.

The digital stage: the new display and control concept

Like the A6 e-tron, A5, Q5 and their sister model, the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron*, features a new display and operating concept. Above the soft interior trim, the digital stage with the curved Audi MMI panoramic display and the MMI passenger display dominates the interior. The slim, freestanding Audi MMI panoramic display has a curved design and is equipped with OLED technology. It features an 11.9-inch Audi virtual cockpit and a 14.5-inch MMI touchscreen. The digital stage is rounded off by an optional 10.9-inch MMI passenger display with active privacy mode.

The optional augmented reality head-up display (AR HuD) represents a major step forward in display technology at Audi. This innovative display projects a large, tilted image plane onto the windshield, providing the driver with essential information such as speed, traffic signs, assistance and navigation icons. The forward tilt of the image plane enhances the augmented reality experience by aligning with the natural focus of the human eye. This tilt, combined with the large distance of the virtual image, makes the displayed elements appear to float 200 meters ahead of the car and interact directly with the environment. From the driver’s perspective, the field of view of the augmented reality content extends over a diagonal of approximately 88 inches.

In addition, Audi has significantly expanded its voice control options. The driver can control many of the vehicle’s functions using the Audi voice assistant. The artificial intelligence-powered digital assistant is integrated into the vehicle and represented by a virtual avatar. The new voice assistant recognizes more than 800 voice commands. After being extended with the ChatGPT chatbot, the Audi assistant automatically recognizes whether it should perform a vehicle function, search for a destination or, for example, provide a weather forecast. The Audi system only forwards queries to ChatGPT when it cannot answer general knowledge questions. Passengers benefit from a seamless experience, as all functions are integrated into the Audi assistant. In addition, ChatGPT never has access to vehicle data. All questions and answers are deleted in the interest of data protection. The basis for this functionality is the Cerence Chat Pro solution from software specialist Cerence, which integrates numerous sources, including ChatGPT.

The new infotainment system uses Android Automotive OS for the first time. It comes with the latest Audi connect services, such as the improved e-tron route planner. Popular apps, such as YouTube, are available via the online shop for third-party apps integrated directly into the MMI, eliminating the need for a smartphone. New apps that will be regularly updated maximize the digital features of the Audi Q6 Sportback e-tron*.

The Bang & Olufsen premium audio system offers a superb 3D sound experience. A highly efficient amplifier at the heart of the system drives 20 loudspeakers with a total output of 830 watts. Four loudspeakers are integrated into the head restraints of the front seats, allowing Audi to introduce so-called sound zones for the first time.
