“More Duster than ever”: the new Duster is part of the history of a model which has become a benchmark on the market as well as a true icon of the Dacia brand and its values: Robust and Outdoor, Essential and Cool, Eco-Smart. Born in 2010, renewed for the first time in 2017, the Duster has established itself by breaking the traditional codes of the SUV market.
Duster is a real success story for a model which, in its 13-year career, has been recognized with more than 40 awards and produced more than 2.2 million units. With sales growing steadily, Duster was in 2022 the best-selling SUV in Europe, all segments combined, on the personal market. Nearly 1,000 Dusters come off the production lines at the Dacia Pitesti factory in Romania every day, or around one vehicle every minute!
A REINVENTED, STRONGER, MORE STATED DESIGN
Duster reinvents its design. It retains all the aesthetic qualities that made previous generations successful, notably its solid character as a robust SUV, but takes them higher, further, stronger by adopting the new Dacia design identity. The new Duster proudly asserts its reinvented design.
David Durand, Dacia Design Director: “Even before working on the style of the new Duster, we worked on its proportions in order to give it a strong stance… Starting by finding the right proportions avoids having to resort to styling tricks afterwards. . »
Go to the essential, eliminate the artificial: this Dacia philosophy also applies to the design of the new Duster.
The designers started working from simple volumes: the passenger compartment, the hood, the wings, etc. They then assembled all these elements in a clean, sharp way, to give the model a modern and constructed style, with deliberately taut and assertive lines.
The simplicity of the shapes and volumes contributes to the power of the design: very vertical front, wheel arches with clean chamfered cutaways, wide tailgate at the rear, side glazing which extends in a single movement of the bow at the stern.
The new Duster is stylishly protected by a real belt which goes all around the vehicle, without any interruption: the side sill protections extend onto the emblematic identity parts of the new Duster, then around the wheel arches which are them -same connected to the front and rear shields. A new Duster more robust and outdoor than ever!
